Dozens of employees in Transnistria take forced leave

The world financial crisis forces more and more Transnistrian companies to decrease production or even stop working. Over 100 employees of the Tiraspol-based company SA Electromas had to take forced leave. The company’s director general Felix Creiciman said that Electromas sustains huge losses. Practically each second worker resigns, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent reports. During a month of crisis, Electromas reduced production levels by 60%. Since November, it exported only 30% of the planned finished products. Vladimir Climan, the head of Avtopoliv plant in Tiraspol, says that the plant does not receive orders on the home market. Earlier, the orders came from the Rabnita Cement Plant, the Metallurgical Plant and the Dubasari Hydroelectric Station, which now face difficulties. The administrations of the companies say the demand has considerably decreased. The crisis in the Transnistrian region is different from the world crisis, which hit first of all the banks. Victoria Apanasko, the head of the deposits department of Gazprombank, said that the banks in Transnistria and the savings of the population are in safety.
