The Pro-European Coalition that came to power after the dismemberment of the Alliance for European Integration faces an identity problem, manager general of the Marketing and Polling Institute (IMAS) Doru Petrutsi said in the public debate “Lessons learned and lessons to be learned. Overcoming and prevention of political crises: role of the political class and society - 2” that was staged by IPN News Agency.

Doru Petrutsi considers the people cannot expect that a government coalition would become fully functional overnight. However, this coalition has a problem. The people do not know how it is called and who forms part of it. They also have questions about the group of Liberal MPs headed by Ion Hadarca and about the performance of the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu.

The IMAS manager underlined that the shortage of communication was one of the major problems of the former ruling alliance. But the communication within the current government format is not much better.

According to Doru Petrutsi, it is very hard to implement sociological measures during a political crisis as the opinions change quickly. “We saw that several months ago the people wanted early elections as they saw no other way out. But then the opinions changed and there were preconditions for the configuration in Parliament to be modified significantly,” said the expert.

Doru Petrutsi asserted that the image of the political players, with small exceptions, was affected, while the scores of the parties changed considerably during the crisis. But the investiture of the new Government in May calmed the people down. A series of diplomats replaced the political leaders.
