Dorin Recean: Moldova is interested in implementing joint projects with Bulgaria and Poland

We are determined to carry out a number of joint projects with Bulgaria and Poland for the benefit of the citizens of the countries. Bulgaria and Poland support Moldova’s European path, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said after the meetings he had in Davos with the leaders of the two states, IPN reports.

Premier Recean and his counterpart from Bulgaria Nikolai Denkov analyzed the opportunities through which the bilateral relationship in the economic and education sectors can be strengthened. Thus, the officials voiced hope that the extension of “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse will be opened as soon as possible in Taraclia.

“The new higher education institution will be attractive not only for ethnic Bulgarians in the south of Moldova, but also for young people from the entire region,” said Dorin Recean, inviting the Bulgarian Premier to pay a visit to Chisinau on this occasion.

In Davos, Prime Minister Recean thanked the President of Poland Andrzej Duda for supporting the European path of the Republic of Moldova, but also of Ukraine, which heroically protects peace and security in the region. The officials discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and opportunities to strengthen them given that 81 companies with Polish capital already invest in Moldova.

“We aim to develop new Moldovan-Polish economic ties. We are determined to carry out more joint projects for the benefit of citizens of both countries,” stated the Moldovan officials.

The Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland concluded 39 bilateral treaties. Poland is among the top 10 trading partners of the Republic of Moldova worldwide and takes the 14th spot in the ranking of the main foreign investors in our country.

The meetings took place on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where Dorin Recean leads the delegation of the Republic of Moldova.

“Grigore Țamblac” University of Taraclia is to become a branch of “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse, Bulgaria. An agreement to this effect is expected to be signed in the near future.
