“Moldova’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine remains unwavering. Our common goal is to promote peace in Europe and to become part of the great European family. To fulfill it, we are determined to increase bilateral cooperation between our countries. The first step - more trade, more connectivity, more joint projects for the benefit of our people”, declared Prime Minister Dorin Recean after a meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.
According to a press release issued by the Moldovan Government, the two officials took stock of the current situation in the areas of security, energy, infrastructure and common pro-European agenda. The Moldovan prime minister reconfirmed our country’s willingness to continue supporting Ukraine, including by supporting the creation of the International Special Tribunal for crimes of aggression against Ukraine. Also, Prime Minister Recean showed his support for the “Peace Formula” proposed by President Zelensky and reiterated the objective of strengthening Moldovan-Ukrainian economic ties.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, together with other participants in the third Crimea Platform Summit, laid flowers at the Memorial Wall of Fallen Defenders of Ukraine. “We honored the memory of those who fell fighting for Ukraine - a wall loaded with pictures of brave women and men who defended their homeland and fought for our shared values. Each image is a lesson in devotion and sacrifice. Let’s not forget these faces”, declared Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
