Prime Minister designate Dorin Recean announced the team with which he will go to Parliament on Thursday to ask for a vote of confidence from the MPs. Most of the members of the future Cabinet formed part of the previous government team led by Natalia Gavrilița, IPN reports.
According to a post by Dorin Recean, the structure of the future Cabinet will be modified. In particular, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development will be divided into two separate ministries. One of these ministries will center on energy, while the second – on infrastructure and regional development. There will be four Deputy Prime Ministers: Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization; Nicolae Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration; Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, and Oleg Serebrian, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
The former Cabinet members who are likely to keep their posts are: Minister of Home Affairs Ana Revenco; Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatyi; Minister of Environment Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov; Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu; Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală; Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco, and Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan.
There will be four new members, namely Veronica Sirețeanu, Minister of Finance, Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, Minister of Justice, Lilia Dabija, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Victor Parlicov, Minister of Energy.
Besides his team, the Premier designate is to present the government program in Parliament. On February 10, Dorin Recean was designated for Prime Minister after Natalia Gavrilița vacated the post earlier the same day. Last February, Dorin Recean was named adviser on defense and national security to President Maia Sandu. He served as minister of home affairs in the Filat Government and the Leancă Government.
