Prime Minister Vlad Filat introduced today the new Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean to the Ministry's staff. Former Minister Alexei Roibu, whose resignation was accepted on July 24, attended the event as well, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the government. Vlad Filat thanked the former Minister for his work and told him that he had to deal with many challenges during what had been a difficult spell. The Prime Minister noted this was the third time he presented a new Ministry of the Interior since his appointment 2 years and 10 months ago. “The period to come will be a tough one. Legislation-related reforms have been almost completed”, said Vlad Filat. He demanded the new Minister to prepare an evaluation of the work of subordinated agencies and of their leaders. “The decisions will come as a result of the evaluation and of results obtained by each head of agency. You had all my support, but it’s time for results. I assure there will be no hesitation in our decision-making”, stressed the Prime Minister. Vlad Filat asked that the evaluation was done as soon as possible and that the results were presented to him personally. The freshly appointed Minister Dorin Recean said he would set very clear requirements for his subordinates and that the change will be felt soon enough. He added that only those staffers who meet the integrity and efficiency criteria would keep their places.
