Dorin Recean in Kyiv: Moldova remains in solidarity with Ukraine

Moldova is, and will remain in solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. Ukraine is steadfastly resisting the brutal Russian aggression, protecting the country, people and common values, declared Moldova’s Prime Minister Dorin Recean at a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Denys Shmyhal, in Kyiv.

The two prime ministers agreed to boost a series of bilateral projects in the economic, energy, agricultural, infrastructure and transport fields. “Together, we also contribute to regional efforts to ensure food security, by strengthening cooperation for the transit of Ukrainian goods and restoring and improving the transport, road and railway infrastructure, which will also benefit companies from our own country”, said Dorin Recean.

The Moldovan prime minister noted that the two countries, as good neighbors, “are full of determination on the irreversible road to joining the EU, demonstrating the common will to build modern, prosperous and democratic societies within the European family”.

Dorin Recean paid a visit to Ukraine to represent Moldova at the Crimea Platform summit, a diplomatic initiative of Ukraine designed as an international coordination mechanism for the effort to put the subject of Crimea back on the agenda, with the purpose of restoring Ukraine’s control over the peninsula. The first summit of the Platform took place in August 2021.
