Dorin Chirtoaca: We are witnessing a shift in the political landscape

“The Party of Communists has no chances to hold onto power, with their rating continuously declining”, Dorin Chirtoaca said, after he had cast his vote on Sunday, June 17. Referring to the political conjuncture in the 2007 election campaign, Chirtoaca says that even though the ruling party has another half of term left, it is obvious that the communists have no chances. At the same time, says the vice-president of the Liberal Party, we are witnessing a repositioning of several parties on the political landscape, due to the “pro-European orientation of most of political parties in Moldova”. Chirtoaca believes that the representatives of the ruling party will not have a constructive attitude towards the municipality of Chisinau, bearing in mind that it enters opposition and, judging by their recent press statements, they intend to sabotage the activity of the municipal authorities. Dorin Chirtoaca states that if the communist councilmen do propose useful projects for Chisinau and work for the benefit of the citizens, their projects will always be debated in the City Council.
