Dorin Chirtoaca: Vote in Chisinau should be defended by all democratic ways

Ex-mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoac said the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc lit the wick, but also confirmed that he fully controls justice. “After he stole everything he could, even the souls of MPs, prosecutors, judges and others, he now wants to steal our vote,” stated the former mayor, being quoted by IPN.

In a posting on Facebook, Dorin Chirtoaca said the vote in Chisinau should be defended by all the democratic ways, from protests up to civil unrest. “If we do not defend our vote now, neither the parliamentary elections nor something else will count. The protests are mandatory, based on the model of Bucharest of the winter of 2017: in the evening, after working hours and/or on the weekend. We can even watch the football championship in the central square of Chisinau in parallel,” he stated.

Dorin Chirtoaca noted that Vlad Plahotniuc tests our nerves and wants to show that nobody matters except him, the votes of hundreds of thousands of people do not matter and, if Radu or Ceban could not win, he can invalidate the elections. This is also rehearsal for the autumn elections. “Do you accept this? Surely not. That’s why be ready to defend our vote, democracy and the rule of law! Down with dictatorship!”, he said.

In the evening of June 19, close to 10pm, the Centru branch of the Court of Chisinau municipality invalidated the results of the new mayoral elections held recently in Chisinau. Present at the court, mayor-elect Andrei Nastase, who heads the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA), told the press this is a perfidious game hatched by the current government, noting the decision of the ordinary court will be challenged.
