“Vladimir Voronin's statements (that Valeriu Boboc, who died on the night of April 8, was thrown out of the window of a Parliament floor -e.n.) show that he admits he is the moral author of the terror, maltreatment and toleration of all the crimes committed in police commissariats after April 7,” Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca told a news conference on March 23, Info-Prim Neo reports. The mayor said these assertions made by the former head of state almost one year after the April 2009 events discredit and dishonor him. “Asserting that a person who was killed by the regime was thrown from a Parliament's floor when having a repressive apparatus that includes the Ministry of the Interior, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Security and Information Service means in fact recognition of the fact that he is the author of the April events,” said the mayor, who is the vice president of the Liberal Party. Dorin Chirtoaca said the statements made by Vladimir Voronin are erroneous as there are witnesses who say Valeriu Boboc was thrown near the Emergency Hospital from a car with the Ministry of the Interior's license number. “If this is the position of a former head of state, we can say that he consciously hides the crimes committed by the regime,” Dorin Chirtoaca said. The mayor argued that no penalty was imposed on the doctor who signed the death certificate, which says that Valeriu Boboc got poisoned with an unidentified gas. The British expert who carried out the examination established he was beaten to death. During Pro TV's program “In Profunzime” on March 22, the leader of the parliamentary Opposition Vladimir Voronin said the information that Valeriu Boboc was thrown from a floor of the Parliament was furnished to him by the Ministry of the Interior.
