Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca Thursday paid a working visit to the heat supplier SA Termocom. He suggested that the company’s administration should reduce the indirect costs and should negotiate with the thermoelectric plants CET 1 and CET 2 so that the heating charge for end-users remains at the same level, Info-Prim Neo reports. The mayor said he will himself attend the discussions with the CETs if need be. “We call on the CETs to reduce the costs so that we do not have to ask for a rise. Termocom should cut the indirect expenses and preserve only the main four components – the payment of the gas to the CETs, the payment of salaries, the administrative costs and the costs for dealing with accidents,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. He stated that instead of increasing the heating charge, they should better raise the tariff for a cubic meter of hot water up to 50 lei. Now a cubic meter of hot water costs 40 lei. Termocom director Mihail Cernei said such a decision can be taken only in concert with the suppliers. “If they are against, we will sustain huge losses and will be unable to make payments to the suppliers,” he stressed. SA Termocom purchases 75% of the heat supplied to end-users from the CETs. The heating charge is now 898 lei. Termocom earlier demanded that the charge be raise by 16.4% to 1 045 lei per gigacalorie.
