Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca will participate, between July 10 and 12, at the International Conference “Open Government Data - 2012” that will take place in the United States of America, reports Info-Prim Neo, quoting a communiqué from the City Hall’s PR department. The event is organized the World Bank, in partnership with the US Government. The Conference will take place at the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC. Expected attendees are experts in the field, representatives of governments, political parties, and the civil society. During the conference subjects related “Open Government Data” policies, platforms, launching technologies and standards will be discussed; additionally, topics like the building of open national and local data systems, engaging citizens in open data initiatives, the use of open data for economic and social well-being, will also be discussed. The expenses for travel and conference pass are covered by the organizers. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca will return to Chisinau at the end of the week.
