Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca instructed Termocom's administration to stop paying its historic debt to CETs and Moldovagaz using money from current bills, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Historic debts are a problem that the Government, Moldovagaz and the CETs must solve themselves. They administered Termocom, they amassed debts, and they should pay these debts. The City Hall has paid enough- 500 million lei of the debt accumulated between 2001 and 2009. It’s unfair that those who brought the enterprise into debt now leave others to deal with it. They should have administered the company so that to avoid such debts”, said Chirtoaca. The mayor added that he would discuss the issue within the AIE. “I don’t think that the CETs, which are subordinated to the Government, act on their own. Another interesting fact is that the court enforcement officers receive 3% of the amount to be paid. Termocom is being used not only for paying debts, but for cashing substantial commissions as well”, said Chirtoaca. Termocom director Mihail Cernei said that the enterprise had paid 55% of its debts to CET-2 and 44% to CET-1, and it had no debts to Moldovagaz or Union Fenosa for this season. The people’s payment rate for heat is 62%.
