Dorin Chirtoaca reproves division heads
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca is angry with the division heads who, according to him, do not properly fulfill their duties. The reaction comes after municipal councilors last weekend informed that the kindergartens in Ciocana district have been supplied with bread made from fodder wheat.
“You hold important posts, take decisions and assume responsibility. What kind of local administration is this? The mayor should not intervene and deal with all the problems,” Dorin Chirtoaca said in Monday's meeting of City Hall officials, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“If such cases repeat and the divisions do not take steps, the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime will be asked to investigate them,” Dorin Chirtoaca said.
The mayor also said that he received a lot of complaints from parents, who say their children have indigestion after they return from kindergarten. “I understand that it is hard to live only on the salary, especially in the local public administration,” Dorin Chirtoaca stated, instructing the district heads' offices to thoroughly examine how the kindergartens are supplied with food products.
Tatiana Botnaru, consultant with the General Division of Eduction, Youth and Sport, said such situations appear because of the imperfect legislation, which favors the companies that offer the lowest prices for services at tender contests.
The head of the mayor's apparatus Lilian Carp said the contract with the company that supplied bakery products of a poor quality to the Ciocana kindergartens - “Maria Gutu” - was terminated on December 2. The company was written in the blacklist, which also includes the firm “Grefcomert” that supplied horse meat to kindergartens instead of beef meat. The given companies cannot participate in tender contests.
