The negotiations on the formation of a pro-European parliamentary coalition now reached a situation similar to that witnessed in January 2015, deputy chairman head of the Liberal Party (PL) Dorin Chirtoaca said in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
“This January, after a meeting with the European partners at the airport, everyone was ready to form a coalition. Even a formula concerning the participation in government was reached. But overnight, the PDM and PLDM decided to form a coalition with the Communists. We insist on observing the agreement reached then at the airport,” said Chirtoaca.
He also said that the PL insists on the previous conditions too. “The European initiative is being infringed. The document we agreed at the airport contains the phrase ‘European prosecutor’. This can be a person from the EU who has Moldovan nationality or a person from Moldova who has European nationality. This prosecutor must not obey political orders. We want Romania’s practice to be used so that the Moldovan justice is controlled from Brussels,” stated the Liberal heavyweight.
Dorin Chirtoaca added that the Liberal Party also put forward such demands as clarification of the situation concerning the US$1 billion stolen from banks, implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU and distribution of posts depending on the number of seats won as a result of the November 2014 parliamentary elections.
