I have no competition in these elections, my only competitor being the perception of my activity. The statement belongs to the chairman of the Liberal Party Dorin Chirtoaca and was made at the launching of his election campaign for the position of capital mayor, IPN reports.
"The perception was formed through rumours, discrediting, lies, on biased TV channels. In Romania, for example, I would win in the first round,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.
During the launching of the campaign, at the monument of Stephen the Great and Holy in the capital, the Liberal chairman declared that he started the offensive for truth, dignity, the irreversible European path and the reunification with the Romanian nation. "We intend to change the state of affairs and complete the change we started in 2007," said the Liberal chairman.
Dorin Chirtoaca mentioned that in the years when he was mayor he brought 252 trolleybuses in line with European standards, rebuilt Valea Morilor Park, built the first pedestrian street in Chisinau. "We obtained 25-million euro in funding from the EBRD, the EIB and the EU to solve the solid waste issue and managed to finance the thermal insulation of schools, kindergartens and housing blocks with 25 million euros," Dorin Chirtoaca listed these activities as his achievements during his term as mayor of the capital.
Dorin Chirtoaca specified that projects must be started to solve the current problems of the capital. "We intend to carry out an audit and financial control at all subdivisions of the city hall regarding what has happened in the last two years," said the PL chairman.
Among the priorities, Dorin Chirtoaca mentioned that the existing European projects must be brought to an end, measures should be taken to streamline traffic in the capital and strengthen the capacity to intervene in cases of natural disasters.
