Dorin Chirtoaca files documents to run for Chisinau mayoralty. ELECTIONS 2015

The current mayor general of Chisinau municipality Dorin Chirtoaca submitted the documents needed for being registered as a runner in the June 14 local mayoral elections to the Chisinau District Electoral Council, IPN reports.

Dorin Chirtoaca said he filed the documents on the last day because he had yet work to do and didn’t want to leave his post. Asked by journalists if he wanted to occupy the last place on the ballot, the politician said the number of order on the ballot does not really count for him.

The mayor said he will present his electoral program the next few days. He noted that now he can only say that he is and will be the mayor of all the residents of Chisinau and counts on everyone’s support, regardless of ethnicity and political orientation, because he didn’t resort to discrimination during his eight-year tenure.

Dorin Chirtoaca added that he hasn’t yet seen worthy contenders for the mayoralty of Chisinau, who would really want to dedicate themselves to the city and its inhabitants, but rather players of the Kremlin, who perform maneuvers here. He promised he will continue to work at the Chisinau City Hall after June 15.

Dorin Chirtoaca will vacate his seat when he is registered as a candidate by the Chisinau District Electoral Council. The meeting where the last election runners are to be registered will be held on May 15.
