Dorin Chirtoaca: Election campaign was dirty. ELECTIONS 2015

The campaign that preceded the June 14 local general elections was dirty, in parts disgusting and vulgar, the first deputy chairman of the Liberal Party Dorin Chirtoaca, who is running for the third consecutive term as mayor of Chisinau, said Friday, June 12, quoted by IPN.

In a news conference, Dorin Chirtoaca called on the people to take part in the elections on June 14 so as to regain confidence in the state institutions that were discredited by those who are in power. He stated that the Liberal Party is attacked from all sides because it has nothing to do with anybody, while those who are in power are afraid that they will have to answer according to the law if the Liberals revolt.

“After eight years of mayoralty, I remained the same. I do concrete things for each resident. We ask for confidence for the next four years and for being allowed to take over power when time comes so as to be able to achieve the national renaissance desiderata of 1989. Only this way will we get rid of corruption and wrongdoings,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.

He expressed his concern about the fact that 20%-40% of the voters in different settlements, who have Moldovan identity card, but the conscience in the Kremlin, intend to support the candidates who are against the country’s European course. He called on the people to go to the polls and decide by themselves their fate, not allow other who have nothing in common with our nation to do it.

The Liberal Party’s chairman Mihai Ghimpu told the same news conference that he hopes the people will vote for the Liberals so that these hold a majority of seats in the local councils and come to power after the future parliamentary elections so as to bring the humiliation and corruption to an end.
