Dorin Chirtoaca: Communists’ boycott is against Chisinau residents
“The Communists’ boycott is not against me, the City Hall or the Municipal Council, but against the inhabitants of Chisinau municipality,” Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said following the Communist councilors’ decision not to attend the December 23 meeting of the Council, Info-Prim Neo reports.
As a quorum wasn’t present, the meeting did not take place. The councilors were to examine 29 issues, including the approval of the lending agreement signed with the EBRD for repairing six streets.
Under the agreement, a relevant decision is to be adopted until the end of the year. The December 23 meeting was to be the last this year. The mayor said he will try to convene another meting until December 31, together with the faction leaders.
In a news conference the same day, the leader of the Communist faction Boris Golovin announced they will not take part in the meetings until the seats of three Communist councilors are not invalidated and given to the substitute candidates.
