Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca claims he has information that the Ukrainian company Electroplus is backed by a person from the Alliance for European Integration. He told a press conference on Friday, June 18, that this company harasses the Division of Electric Transport (RTEC), the Chisinau City Hall, and recently got to RED Nord as well, Info-Prim Neo reports. In March, Electroplus sued RTEC for a historical debt of 15 million lei, requesting the court to seize institution’s accounts. Now, Electroplus demands the City Hall to pay 7 million lei. “How is it possible that for the assignment of some ‘claims’, a certain Ltd. demands the City Hall to pay debts that don’t exist?” the Mayor asked. Chirtoaca says the debt to this company was paid in 2001 and he is puzzled why he is being requested to pay it again. The trials with Electroplus last for already 5 years because of some debts for electricity, transferred from the state enterprise Moldelectrica. The City Hall and RTEC won some cases, but the court rulings were not irreversible and the Ukrainian company contested them.
