Dorin Chirtoaca, the candidate for Chisinau mayor on behalf of the Liberal Party (LP) voted at 8.00 at the polling station no.1/79 in the municipality of Chisinau, being the 13th voter to register at the polling station. He says he is not superstitious and is not worried because he is the 13th. Chirtoaca said after casting his ballots that he opted for “a change for the better, with the support of a correct and competent administration, which would serve the interest of the citizens and would respect the law, so that the democratic values and freedom in all the fields are respected in Moldova”. Dorin Chirtoaca considers that the second round of elections will certainly take place, because “the possibility that one of the candidates collects 50% of the votes is low, especially because of the significant number of candidates”. Chirtoaca says that the second-round election is a normal democratic practice.
