On the way to the final, the athlete from Hancesti won against the pugilists from Kosovo, Norway and Tunisia, while in the final Bucsa was declared champion because Russia’s Polianskii didn’t meet the weight requirements.
“He is an ambitious young man who works hard to reach the Olympic Games. We believe in him. Even if he was one of the youngest boxers at the competition, he scored 3-0 victories against athletes with experience,” Bucsa’s coach Igor Untila stated for IPN.
