Bulgaria’s capital Sofia hosted the 69th international boxing tournament “Strandzha”, IPN reports

The competition involved about 150 athletes from 24 countries. Moldova was represented by pugilists Iulian Ivanov and Dorin Bucsa from Hancesti.

Dorin Bucsa ranked third in the 60 kg weight class. He managed to beat two athletes from Africa, John Collin Jean (Mauritius) and Dris Halouk (Morocco), but in the semifinal lost to the future winner Davis Kaishaut of the U.S.

Iulian Ivanov was eliminated from the competition by a Russian boxer.
