The layer of ice on the lakes in the capital is only 6-7 centimeters and is in danger of breaking. The warnings, addressed in particular to angling enthusiasts, come after an inspection carried out by the Green Spaces Management Association at water rescue stations in municipal parks and the Ghidighici reservoir, IPN reports.

On February 24-28, at the Rescue Station No.1 in the Valea Morilor Park, employees of water rescue stations of local public administrations are taking part in a training course for the lifeguard specialty, organized by the General Prevention Directorate of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.

The authorities note that during 2024, employees of the Water Rescue Section of the Green Spaces Management Association rescued around one hundred people from drowning.
