The native home of the nineteenth century poet and fabulist Alexandru Donici, located in the eponymous village in Orhei district, will be transferred under the administration of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, and will become a branch of the National Literature Museum Mihail Kogălniceanu, IPN reports.
The Donici museum is accommodated by an estate built in the second half of the eighteenth century and last renovated in the second half of the twentieth century.
The institution has an exhibition potential of national import, consisting of plastic art works, paintings, graphics, drawings, decorative art, relevant documents about the life and work of the Donici family, ethnographic pieces, and furniture pieces.
The museum is visited annually by about 18,000 visitors, and specialists organize around 300 guided tours for both domestic and foreign tourists.
