Donation for Mother and Child Institute secured by Edelweiss and Medical Bridges

A truck with medical equipment arrived at the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau in the morning of December 14. The donated equipment was secured by Vlad Plahotniuc’s Foundation Edelweiss and the U.S. organization Medical Bridges, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Foundation.

The donation consists of extremely necessary equipment, apparatus and consumables, which were requested by the administration of the medical center, to the value of US$128,500.

“These devices will considerably ease our work. These are very necessary things, needed by any hospital. We will be able to offer consultations at higher standards,” said doctors of the Mother and Child Institute.

The medical equipment was brought from the U.S. based a cooperation agreements signed by Edelweiss and Medical Bridges several months ago.

“I became acquainted with doctors in Huston this May. They showed us a last-generation medical center from which their patients benefit. We didn’t lose time either. We kept in touch and built the basis of cooperation with Edelweiss. Today we witnessed a first concrete result,” stated Edelweiss founder Vlad Plahotniuc.

Medical Bridges is known for its involvement in over 80 counties, where it provides support for health protection. While in Chisinau, the organization’s representatives George Bolettieri and Judkins Jeremiah Wilson said they were delighted by the cooperation with Edelweiss for the benefit of the Mother and Child Institute.

“It is a new market for us. We have never been to the Republic of Moldova and are glad that we could establish a partnership with Edelweiss, which will help us make more donations to Moldova” said the American doctors. They approved of the conditions at the Mother and Child Institute following the broad renovations of the last two years.

In 2014, Edelwiess pledged to support the modernization of the Mother and Child Institute within the social campaign “Revive Moldova”. This year Edelweiss has provided assistance on birth within another social project for the benefit of mothers and children.
