Ex-judge Domnica Manole and lawyer Viorica Grecu filed an application to the Superior Council of Magistracy by which they demand to annul the July 4 decision by which Domnica Manole was discharged from the post of judge of the Chisinau Appeals Court, IPN reports.

In a public statement, Domnica Manole says she has the right to seek the annulment of the decision given that a part of the provisions concerning incumbent judges of the law on the examination of holders and candidates for public posts were declared unconstitutional on December 5 last year.

It should be noted that the Superior Council of Magistracy ruled that Domnica Manole was incompatible with the post of judge following appraisals by the Security and Intelligence Service and proposed that the President of Moldova should dismiss her. The presidential dismissal decree was issued at the end of last July. The judge described the Council’s decision as a political order and as an illegal decision as all the legal provisions were flagrantly violated.
