Doina St will be closed for traffic
The Chisinau authorities continue to clean the city and prepare it for Low or Thomas Sunday. The cemeteries and access roads to them will be cleaned, lighted and served with public units of transport. Trading places will be set up near cemeteries, while parking places – on the adjoining streets, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The works have been 90% completed. Doina St, the section near Saint Lazarus Cemetery, will be closed for traffic on Friday, April 9, for carrying out the last cleaning works,” the head of the General Division of Public Transport and Communications Veaceslav Tarana said at the April 6 meeting of the City Hall.
Terna also said that the private means of transport will not have access to this area on April 10, 11 and 12. “In order to avoid traffic jams, only the buses and minibus will be allowed to go to Saint Lazarus Cemetery,” he informed. The buses running on route No. 27, C (instead of No. 10) and D will transport passengers to the cemetery situated on Doina St free of charge. The buses D and C will set off from the Circus station.
According to the Public Food, Services and Trade Division, about 30 companies will sell food products, soft drinks and candles near cemeteries on Low Sunday. The sale of alcoholic drinks, including beer, is banned.
