Dodon says he never planned to leave Communists

“I've never said I was going to leave the Communists Party. I know there are people who want this, but as I said earlier, I have no intention of making gifts”, Communist MP Igor Dodon told a press conference on Thursday. He stressed that all speculation about his potential defection is senseless, as he never planned to do it. Further, Dodon predicted a “hot autumn” in terms of political events. When asked about a potential coalition between the Communists and the Liberal-Democrats for the election of the President, Dodon said it was too early to discuss it. “Politicians should demonstrate political maturity and find a compromise to elect the head of state. Otherwise, there will be early elections again, which is too much for Moldova in two years”.
