During an official visit to Moscow, the Communist Party's candidate for mayor of Chisinau municipality Igor Dodon met with the head of the Russian presidential administration Serghei Naryshkin and the mayor of Moscow Serghei Sobianin. The candidate's electoral staff provided details about the May 28 visit in a communique, Info-Prim Neo reports. The meeting with Serghei Naryshkin, which Igor Dodon attended as a member of the Parliament of Moldova, centered on the political situation in Moldova and aspects of the cooperation between the two states. Communist lawmakers Zinaida Grecheanyi was also present at the meeting. With Serghei Sobianin, Igor Dodon discussed the cooperation between the two capital cities, in particular the implementation of investment projects, road building and reconstruction, waste collection and processing, and the improvement of Moldovan producers' access to the Moscow market. The two officials also conferred on the cooperation in culture between Moscow and Chisinau. Igor Dodon asked the mayor of Moscow to provide assistance in maintaining “A.Pushkin” Museum House, “A.Cehov” Theater, and the Slavonic University in Chisinau. It was suggested creating a commission for cooperation between Moscow and Chisinau, which would deal with all the problems related to the cooperation between the two capitals in accordance with a plan of action. At the start of the election campaign Igor Dodon visited the Russian capital also as a candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau, while two weeks ago he paid a visit to Brussels.
