Dodon confirms issuing of two supplementary identities, one of which for Plahotniuc

President Igor Dodon confirmed that the former director of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) Vasile Botnari in 2018 initiated the issuing of two supplementary identities to two Moldovan citizens. One of these was intended for the former leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc, while the other one for a person who is not a public figure, state functionary or party member. After the meeting of the Supreme Security Council, Igor Dodon said the two identities haven’t been used, IPN reports.

“Two supplementary identities were issued in the name of Novac Vladislav Vladimir on July 29, 2018 and in the name of Reznic Alexandru Mihai in a month, on August 29, 2018. These identities haven’t been used according to database information. The information we possess shows these passports haven’t been used when leaving the Republic of Moldova,” stated Igor Dodon.

He added the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office took legal action over this case on October 29 this year to find out why the former administration of the SIS issued these two identities. “The Prosecutor General’s Office informed us today that it will provide information about the reasons of the former director at the next meeting”.

Asked by the journalists who the second supplementary identity belongs to, President Dodon said this information is yet secret and he cannot reveal the name of the person, but noted that this is not a government official or party member.
