Dodon against early elections, Greceanyi promises to make revelations
The early legislative elections are not a solution for Moldova, Communist lawmaker Igor Dodon said in a news conference on Monday. In the same conference, Communist MP Zinaida Greceanyi said she will make later disclosures about her political fate, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Igor Dodon said he is against early legislative elections, but they can take place if the head of state is not elected. He also said that he will comply with the Communist Party’s decision as regards the election of the head of state. “The PCRM’s official position is known and we are part of the team,” he stated.
Zinaida Greceanyi, who is the Communist Party’s candidate for the presidency, said she will make revelations about her political fate this autumn.
“You will find out about my personal decisions as well. The procedure for electing the head of state must start. Afterward, we will see who the candidates are. The PCRM is a rather serious party and does not change its opinion every day. We will see what happens in autumn,” said Zinaida Greceanyi.
The two lawmakers denied the information published by Wikileaks, according to which Communist MPs, including Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi, Grigore Petrenco and Marc Tkachuk, in 2009 were ready to vote in Marian Lupu as President of Moldova.
“We consider it an attempt to distort the situation inside the party. We will not yield to such challenges and will firmly go on,” said Igor Dodon.
He also said that this autumn it will be much hotter than during the campaign for the local elections, referring to the election of the head of state. “This autumn will be the period of wise decisions and is such decisions are taken, we will be able to overcome the crisis. I hope the dialogue in Parliament after the vacation will be based on wisdom. At least the PCRM we do everything possible in this respect,” said Igor Dodon.
