Documentary promotes Chisinau as European capital

The Institute for Development and Social Initiative (IDIS) “Viitorul” and OWH TV Studio launched the documentary “Chisinau – European capital”. The film promotes the investment, tourism and cultural potential of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. The 20-minute documentary covers the two decades of the municipality after Moldova proclaimed its independence. It focuses on the architectonic landscape and historical monuments and institutions in Chisinau and includes interviews with businessmen working in the construction sector, light industry, and agrifood industry and sequences from the production process in Chisinau. There are mentioned the brands with which Chisinau and Moldova are associated, of candies, wines, carpets, clothes, etc. IDIS “Viitorul” director Liubomir Chiriac said that by this film Chisinau will make known its investment opportunities and cultural advantages. “We consider that this documentary can help us convey a positive message to all the people who want to know us,” he stated. The head of OWH TV Studio Virgiliu Margineanu, who is the producer of the film, said that it was a pleasure for him to work on it. “The residents of Chisinau deserve having a visiting card like this film,” he stressed. The film’s director Leonida Vatamanu, artistic director of OWH TV Studio, said that she worked on the documentary with great pleasure because she was born in Chisinau. “I think you will sense my love for Chisinau in this film as a person in love always sees the nice things,” she said. 100 CDs with the film were distributed to diplomatic missions and international organizations working in Moldova. The film is available in Romanian and English.
