Doctors advise anti-flu vaccination
To reduce the incidence of influenza it is strongly recommended to undergo vaccination. It helps to prevent multiple persons from getting sick, and even if they get the virus the disease is much easier to treat and develops without complications, Dr. Oleg Benes, head of the National Center for Preventive Medicine, told a news conference on Monday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The person more likely to develop influenza are children at boarding schools, customs and police officers, medical workers, employees of the social service sector, and passenger carriers. Vaccination is already available from the beginning of November and will be done until mid December.
This year it is planned to vaccinate roughly 1 million Moldovans against the flu. The cost of one shot is about 120 lei. Anti-flu shots are given at medical centers by family doctors.
Common symptoms of the flu are fever, headaches, and fatigue, and may also include body aches, especially of joints and throat, coughing and sneezing, nasal congestion, nausea and vomiting. Call a doctor when these symptoms arise.
