The anesthesiologist who asked for money for the operation of a child was fired. Last week, a video filmed with a hidden camera at the Mother and Child Institute was placed on a media network. It showed a woman anesthesiologist asking for money from a woman for the surgery that her child was to undergo, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Health said it examined this case and immediately requested the administration of the Mother and Child Institute to set up a commission for investigating this case. Information was also asked concerning the supply of drugs and consumables given that the anesthesiologist said these are absent.
It was established that the hospital has all the necessary medicines and consumables and there are no obstacles to providing medical assistance to patients. As a result of the identified irregularities, the doctor was fired.
The Ministry of Health warns that the children younger than 18 and the persons who possess health policy benefit from medical assistance in full amount and pay no additional taxes. For the medical services provided for payment, which do not form part of the mandatory health insurance package, the payments are made exclusively at the cash desk of the medical institution.
