Doctor and university professor Viacheslav Moshin, a pioneer of in vitro fertilization in the Republic of Moldova, leveled serious accusations against the limited liability company Repromed. Moshin, a former associate of the company, said that the current administration of Repromed intends to bring the company to the brink of bankruptcy through phantom companies.
In a news conference hosted by IPN, Vyacheslav Moshin said that in 2003-2012, he served as the director of the National Center for Human Reproduction and Medical Genetics. At the request of former minister Vladimir Hotineanu, he hired his daughter-in-law Alina Hotineanu as an obstetrician-gynecologist at the Center. The new employee defended her doctoral thesis in medicine and, discussing how difficult it was to perform IVF procedures in state institutions, the idea of initiating a private clinic in this field appeared. This is how the company Repromed was created.
In 2012, after the opening of Repromed clinic, he left the National Center for Human Reproduction and Medical Genetics and devoted himself to clinical activity and the implementation of the latest technologies at Repromed. Throughout this period, he focused on clinical, scientific and teaching activities, while Alina Hotineanu focused on the management of the company, which gradually became controlled by the Hotineanu family: Alina Hotineanu – co-founder 50%, Adrian Hotineanu (Alina Hotineanu’s husband) – medical director, Lidia Lysyi (Alina Hotineanu’s mother) – administrator, Dorin Lysyi (Alina Hotineanu’s brother) – executive director. “Thus, they formed a real clan – the Hotineanu clan,” stated Vyacheslav Moshin.
“Due to my activities and the team led by me, Repromed achieved remarkable results, being one of the most famous private companies in the Republic of Moldova. As a result, the accumulated financial resources were used for the construction and equipment of Repromed+ hospital, which was opened in 2019. With the opening of Repromed+ hospital, however, things began to change. I practically no longer had access to information about the company’s financial activity, founders’ meetings were formal, the results of the activity were not discussed with me,” said Vyacheslav Moshin.
After suffering from COVID and seeing his health worsening, Vyacheslav Moshin decided to donate his part of the share capital to his children: Cristina and Vyacheslav Moshin and to a person close to the family. From that moment on, the Hotineanu clan declared a real war on him: they started two criminal cases, which were later dropped, and filed three lawsuits, intimidation actions were taken. “When the company brought a profit of 50 million, everything was fine, but when, at the end of 2020, I fell ill with a severe form with COVID and, after I was discharged, I was diagnosed with skin cancer, the ordeal began. Because my health worsened and I was dissatisfied with the way the company was managed, I decided to end my professional activity and I offered the Hotineanu family to buy 50% of the company’s share capital, which belonged to me. But they turned down my offer, invoking that I will have to work for another 5 years and then they will decide,” the doctor told a news conference at IPN. Against the background of rising tensions, he had to resign from the position of doctor of Repromed clinic. “In these three years, I have been threatened and intimidated by the Hotineanu clan. I was told that they have good acquaintances in the judicial system and people with political influence, that I will not achieve anything and that they will do everything to discredit me and my family,” said Vyacheslav Moshin.
The doctor regrets that SRL Repromed, which was one of the most important private institutions in the Republic of Moldova, is today in a disastrous situation, with an ongoing insolvency process and debts of millions, due to the current administration of the clinic. Repromed LCC bears most of the costs of SRLAIDMED, SRL Reconstruct Civil and SRL Z-Medizine, while all the profit is stolen through these phantom companies.
