A doctor in Balti was brought into custody by the National Anticorruption Center and is being investigated for passive corruption. Evidence shows that the doctor from Balti systematically received for each certificate amounts between 200 and 500 lei. At least ten incidents have been documented by NAC officers.
Several people will testify during hearings. If the doctor is found guilty, he may serve from 3 to 7 years in prison and pay a fine ranging from 4000 to 6000 conventional units.
