A doctor aged 38 died at the Ungheni District Hospital as a result of food poisoning on September 8. The hospital’s head Maria Rotaru has told IPN that the man was brought to the hospital in a coma and died two hours later. It is presumed that he poisoned himself at a wedding party in Chisinau.

Maria Rotaru said the man was her colleague and he probably tried to treat himself at home, but his state worsened in several hours. He was taken to the hospital too late and nothing could be done to save him.

Another 20 persons who attended the same wedding party were admitted to the Ungheni District Hospital.
