Dnestrovsk town will no longer depend on Tiraspol
The Transnistrian town Dnestrovsk will become autonomous from 2013. During 10 years, this settlement has been territorially dependent on Tiraspol town, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the information portal newspmr.com.
According to the quoted source, public debates centering on the settlement’s status were held in the town. The issue was also raised in the meetings of the Transnistrian leader Yevgenny Shevchuk and the local voters.
Dnestrovsk is situated about 40 kilometers from Tiraspol and the inhabitants meet difficulties when they need to validate documents or solve administrative problems.
The first step that will be taken is to approve a separate budget for Dnestrovsk, which will be initially included in the budget of Tiraspol, but in a separate chapter. The head of the Tiraspol local administration Andrei Bezbabchenko said that the Transnistrian leader ordered solving all the problems concerning the town’s status. A series of changes need to be made to the Transnistrian legislation for the town to obtain autonomy.
