Moldovan goalkeeper Dmitrii Stajila signed a three-year contract with Kuban Krasnodar. Brought up by Sheriff, the 24-year-old player didn’t manage to assert himself at the team from Tiraspol, but became yet champion of Moldova four times with this, IPN reports.
This is not the first experience of playing abroad for Stajila. The goalkeeper, who is 2.04 meters in height, also played for the Albanian team Kukesi, including five matches of the qualifying rounds of Europa League. At Kuban, Stajila will play alongside the fullback of the national football team of Moldova Igor Armas.
Among other Moldovans playing in Russia’s championship are Alexandru Gatcan, of FC Rostov, and Ilie Cebanu, of Mordovia. The competition reopens on March 5.
