Dismissals in Sandu Government

Vladimir Baldovici was discharged from the post of director of the Public Property Agency by a Government Decision based on his resignation, IPN reports.

Prime Minster Maia Sandu requested that all the privatization procedures announced by the Public Property Agency should be temporarily stopped and that a thorough investigation should be conducted in the privatization process of the last three years, especially of the recent past. If illegal, non-transparent transactions are identified, these will be annulled and the persons to blame will be held accountable.

The executive decided to also dismiss Lilia Palii from the post of secretary general of the Government.  The post will be held on an interim basis by Roman Cazan, deputy secretary general of the government.

In the same meeting, the Cabinet approved the dismissal of Simion Carp as state secretary general of the Ministry of the Interior and of Ion Sula as acting director general of the National Food Safety Agency. It was decided that the duties of director general of the National Health Insurance Company will be temporarily fulfilled by Iurie Osoianu.

Also today, Moldova’s Ambassador to the U.S. and Mexico Cristina Balan was recalled.

Maia Sandu said the functionaries who became involved in politics and served the old regime will have to leave. Those who honestly did their job will not lose their posts and will continue to work without being intimidated.
