The playgrounds in the yards of apartment buildings in Chisinau are being disinfected each morning. The measures are taken in a move to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Public Amenities Division head Ion Burdiumov said the stairs in blocks are also disinfected. The balustrades, stairs and elevators are sanitized two times a day. Each housing stock manager, regardless of the organizational form, is obliged to take such measures.

The functionary told de IPN that measures are being taken to clean the common use places, waste storage places and the units of transport used in the cleanup process. The workers were issued with protective face masks and gloves.

Ion Burdiumov reiterated his call to the parents and guardians to obey the measures imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, to supervise the children who are on forced vacation and not to allow them to gather together in large groups on stadiums and playgrounds. “The walks, sport and other activities in the open air should not be restricted by parents, but the children should be told about the risks faced when contacting with large groups,” he stated.
