The General Public Amenities Division on June 9 launches the works to wash and disinfect the waste platforms situated near blocks managed by municipal enterprises. Contacted by IPN, the Division’s head Petru Gontea said the waste that accumulated in the city during several days while access to the waste dump near Bubuieci was blocked has been collected.

Vice director of the cleanup company “Autosalubritate” Alexandru Bajura said the waste collection works near the buildings managed by Privatized Dwelling Owners Associations and Homebuilding Cooperatives were hampered by the lack of workers who could provide assistance in the collection of waste.  

The waste collection problem in Chisinau appeared last week after inhabitants of Bubuieci commune of Chisinau municipality blocked the access of garbage trucks to the local waste dump. As a result of discussions between government officials and representatives of the residents of Bubuieci, it was agreed that the waste from Chisinau will be taken to the dump located on Uzinelor St during one more month. Solutions to the problem are to be identified in the period.
