The Central Market of Chisinau is closed to visitors as of March 16. Cleanup and disinfection activities will be performed on its territory throughout this week.
The enterprise’s acting director Ion Pîntea has told IPN that the business entities that rent trading units there free them of perishable goods. The traders allow ancillary staff to enter the trading units and perform sanitation and disinfection works there.
Cleanup works are also performed at trading units situated near the central market, which also belong to the municipal enterprise. Ion Pîntea said the trading business entities showed responsibility and stopped work so as to avoid the risk of infection with the novel coronavirus.
By order of mayor general Ion Ceban, the municipal enterprise Central Market was closed until April 1. The measure could be extended, depending on the epidemiological situation.
