The discussions with the Party of Communists (PCRM), which continued today, are aimed not at forming a government coalition, but at obtaining this party’s support for electing the Parliament’s administration and investing the Government, the negotiator on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party Vadim Pistrinciuc stated, adding that they discussed the priorities and agenda of the legislature so as to hasten the resumption of legislative work, IPN reports.
Sergiu Sarbu, of the Democratic Party (PDM), said the discussions go on as they aim to identify solutions for convening a Parliament sitting the next few days. “We didn’t discuss candidates for posts in the Parliament’s administration. We expect to reach certain decisions in several days,” he stated. According to the Democratic MP, the negotiations on the formation of a government alliance with the Liberal Party continue. “The PDM is for having discussions with all the factions as we must find a compromise and convoke Parliament and then form the Government,” he said.
For his part, Communist MP Artur Reshetnicov said that if the reached agreements are respected, the legislative body will start work in several days. “The PCRM has always been responsible. Our responsibility to the people who voted for it will become evident in the near future,” he stated.
If Parliament adopts no law within three months of the constitution sitting (December 29), it can be dissolved.
