The discussions between the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) and the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) concerning the removal of the Government led by Ion Chicu have been stagnant. After the PPPDA presented a motion of no confidence to the PAS, the discussions stopped. The PPPDA received no response from the PAS, said the party’s leader Andrei Năstase.
“We are still waiting for a response from our colleagues from the PAS, either they sign the motion or not. Today we had a round of discussions with those from the PAS, but didn’t receive a firm answer as to their support if we have the necessary number of votes,” IPN quoted Andrei Năstase as saying in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova.
He noted that the PAS also hasn’t pronounced on the party’s proposal to support an eventual Cabinet led by the president of the PPPDA.
Earlier, Andrei Năstase said the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” is ready to assume governance if the current executive is dismissed.
A motion of no confidence against the Government can be initiated by at least 26 MPs. It can be passed by a minimum of 51 votes of MP.
