The fact that the sides - Chisinau and Tiraspol – have discussions is the most important thing in the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova William Moser said in the program “Public Area” on Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
“I know that sometimes the process seems not to be making headway. But the fact that the two sides discuss is the most important thing. Without this dialog, we cannot hope that the conflict will be resolved. Both of the sides must take significant measures that will represent a real compromise,” stated the ambassador.
William Moser also said that Moldova will soon have a liberalized visa regime with the EU. “I’m glad to say that this regime will also enable the persons from the Transnistrian region who have Moldovan biometric passports to travel. They will see that this is the path they also want,” he added.
The next round of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format will take place in Vienna on February 27-28.
