Moldova's main energy distributor, Premier Energy Distribution, has prepared a program of planned disconnections, in the context of the fact that after January 1, 2025 the supply of natural gas from the Russian concern Gazprom will be stopped on the left bank of the Dniester River in the Republic of Moldova, and also in the uncertainty in the energy sector of the Republic of Moldova regarding the continuity of electricity supply, IPN reports.

According to Premier Energy, the program of planned disconnections was developed in accordance with the Action Plan for exceptional situations in the electro-energy sector, approved by Government decision. The category of vitally important consumers was excluded from the Program.

According to the cited source, the outage program will be applied exclusively in the event of a power deficit in the system. It will be adjusted according to the magnitude and duration of the shortfall and applied in a non-discriminatory and proportionate manner to final electricity consumers.

In the event of such a situation, in subsequent communications, the distribution operator will provide consumers, through its communication channels and by email, with detailed information on the disconnection schedule so that consumers are properly informed about the date, time and duration of the outages. In this context, Premier Energy urges consumers to submit their email details by visiting the distribution operator's website.

At the same time, the company warns that there will be a risk of uncontrolled power outages due to power shortages in the power system of the joint power bloc Ukraine - Republic of Moldova.

Premier Energy gives assurances that the operator of the distribution system is carefully monitoring the development of the situation, is in permanent contact with the central authorities and the transmission system operator, and is ready to adopt the necessary measures to minimize the impact of the crisis on end consumers.
