Discharge lounges for parents to individually organize the discharge event will be set up in the national perinatal centers. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said it learned about the provision of photo and video services by private economic entities within public health facilities from stories related by mothers on social networking sites, IPN reports.

Officials of the Ministry said they requested the involved institutions to provide information about the method of discharging women from maternity hospitals and established that such kind of services exist, but these were instituted at the request of parents. The Ministry instructed the managers of perinatal centers to lay out special discharge areas that the parents could use to individually organize the discharge event.

A number of mothers forming part of a Facebook group expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that at one of the maternity hospitals of Chisinau the parents have to accept expensive private photo and video services on discharge in the absence of an alternative.
