250 people -- disabled children and their custodians – have spent summer spans in a dirty camp, 5 NGOs claim, Info-Prim Neo reports. The president of the Motivatie association, Nicolae Besliu, told Thursday a news conference that over 100 children, accompanied by custodians, and specialists from rehabilitation centers from Chisinau, Criuleni, Cahul, Comrat and Peresecina attended a summer camp in August, part of the project “Better opportunities for disabled children.” Motivatie payed 186,000 lei to the manager of a summer camp from Slobozia-Dusca, Criuleni district, to offer accommodation and meals to the participants. Yet, they claim the camp was not ready when they were to get lodged. The rooms were not tidied up and disinfected, Nina Negru from “Motivatie” says. There were no hangers, bed linen and towels in bedrooms. The food was poor and insufficient. The fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy were only on papers. Motivatie notified the Preventive Medicine Center to check up on the Prietenia summer camp and is planning to sue its manager. The camp's manager was not to be found to comment the accusations. When asked by Info-Prim Neo, some staff from Prietenia have said the camp does not function after the end of the summer season and the manager is rarely visiting them.
